About the event
The London Overseas Musicians League presents an evening of extraordinary piano music, blending iconic repertoire, four-hand brilliance, and spontaneous creativity. Taking place on August 11, 2025, at 7:00 PM in Big School, Tonbridge School, this concert features acclaimed pianists Bing Bing Li, Colin Stone, Julie Kuok, and Laurens Patzlaff, delivering a captivating programme.
The performance opens with the last five pieces from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Op. 75, vividly portraying dramatic scenes from Shakespeare’s timeless tragedy, including the power of Montagues and Capulets, the serenity of Father Lorenzo, and the tender farewell of Romeo and Juliet. This is followed by Gershwin’s vibrant Cuban Overture for Four Hands, brimming with Latin rhythms and jazz-infused energy. The evening culminates in Improvisation on Demand, where the pianists create spontaneous performances based on audience suggestions, offering a unique, one-of-a-kind musical experience.
