Yinglun Wong

Yinglun Wong is a prodigious young pianist currently immersed in the pursuit of his Master of Performance degree at the Royal College of Music in London, under the tutelage of Professor Dorian Leljak. Born in 1997, Yinglun's musical journey commenced at the tender age of four under the guidance of esteemed mentors Keng Zhou and Peihua Tang.

In 2012, his musical prowess led him to the Walnut Hill School of the Arts in Boston, where he flourished under the mentorship of Professor Hung-Kuan Chen. Continuing his quest for musical excellence, Yinglun embarked on an undergraduate journey at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg in 2016, studying under the esteemed guidance of Professor Andreas Weber.


The Royal College of Music has recently extended an invitation for Yinglun to pursue an Artist Diploma, commencing in September 2024, marking yet another milestone in his illustrious musical career.


Yinglun's talent has been recognized and celebrated on numerous occasions, with notable achievements including winning the first prize in the Piano Junior Category of the 2nd UNESCO World Chinese Arts Festival in 2006 and the first prize in the Piano Junior Category of the 1st Asian Stars of Tomorrow China Competition in 2007. Additionally, he clinched the Special Jury Prize in the Singapore Grand Final that same year. His accolades continued to mount with awards such as the second prize in the Concerto B Category and the third prize in the Chopin Ballade and Mazurka Category of the 15th Hong Kong-Asia Piano Competition in 2009.


In 2010, Yinglun's talent shone brightly as he secured the top spot in the 19th International Piano Competition in Ibiza, Spain, along with earning the Special Prize of the Jury. His international acclaim further solidified with the second prize in the G-Clef International Music Competition in Seoul, South Korea, in 2022. Notably, in 2023, he received accolades at the WPTA piano competition and emerged triumphant in the SOLO CONCERTO COMPETITION at the Brescia Music Festival in Italy.


Yinglun has had the privilege of participating in master classes led by renowned figures such as Andrzej Jasnski, Boris Berman, and Einar Steen-Nøkleberg, receiving commendation for his exceptional talent and dedication to his craft.


His performances have graced esteemed venues across the globe, including appearances with esteemed orchestras such as the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra, the Guangzhou Youth Symphony Orchestra, and the Xiamen Philharmonic Orchestra in China. Noteworthy international performances include engagements in Poland, Germany, and the USA. Additionally, Yinglun has enchanted audiences with his solo recitals in renowned venues such as the Shenzhen Concert Hall, Xiamen Wuyuanwan Concert Hall, Shenzhen Nanshan Culture and Sports Center in China, Bösendorfer Hall in Salzburg, Salvatorkirche in Aachen, and various prestigious churches in London.
