What is an LOML Young Associate?

A LOML Young Associate is a distinguished member of the LOML community—an exceptional young pianist or piano teacher who graduated from a UK conservatoire and wishes to contribute back to the UK’s musical landscape. As part of UK’s most reputable international music festivals, LOML Young Associates receive recognition, visibility, and an ongoing artistic connection with the Festival. They serve as ambassadors who inspire students, represent the Festival in their own networks, and help strengthen LOML’s global artistic community.

Responsibilities of an LOML Young Associate

Promote the LOML Events within your own network, studio class, and musical community.

Represent LOML as an ambassador in your region or institution.

Encourage students to participate in the Festival and events provide them with guidance.

Participate in LOML performances and teaching activities when opportunities arise.

Nominate fellow musicians who meet the criteria and may wish to contribute to the LOML community.
Application to Become an LOML Young Associate

There are two pathways to apply for the LOML Associate position: nomination and direct application. LOML values musicians who demonstrate artistic excellence, professionalism, and a commitment to contributing to the Festival community.
1. Nomination Pathway

Candidates may be nominated by an existing LOML Associate, director, member of LOML professors, or member of the LOML network.

Nominations help identify outstanding musicians who share LOML’s artistic vision and educational values.
2. Direct Application Pathway

Applicants may also apply directly by submitting the required materials to the LOML administrative team.

Highlighting education, performance experience, teaching background, and UK conservatoire training.

A professional headshot suitable for LOML’s website and promotional use.

Letter of Intent or Personal Statement
A short explanation of why you wish to become an LOML Associate and how you plan to contribute.

Referral or Recommendation (optional but encouraged)
A brief reference from a colleague, mentor, or institution confirming your professionalism and suitability.
