Jiayan Hou

Hou Jiayan, born on 2010, in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China, is a young pianist who began her musical journey at the age of 6 and a half under the tutelage of Professor Liu Xiaoqiu from the Jilin Academy of Arts.

From an early age, she demonstrated a remarkable aptitude and passion for music, captivating audiences with her performances in numerous artistic events and competitions in Changchun City. Her dedication and hard work have earned her widespread acclaim and numerous accolades.

Among her notable achievements are the Gold Award in the Children's Group A at the 9th Hong Kong International Open Competition in 2018, the First Prize in the John Thompson B Group at the 2018 Liszt Memorial Award Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition, and the Special Prize in the A Group at the 6th International Youth Pianist Thompson Awards in 2018.

In 2019, Hou Jiayan continued to excel, winning the First Prize in the Asia Piano Works Group B at the Singapore International Youth Piano Competition, as well as the Gold Award at the SAKURA International Youth Artists Competition. Her talent was further recognized with the First Prize in the Chopin Memorial Award Jilin Region at the Hong Kong International Piano Open Competition.

In 2020 and beyond, Hou Jiayan's achievements continued to impress, including winning the First Prize in the Children's Group Three at the 6th Melbourne International Youth Piano Competition China Regional Competition and the Gold Award at the Central Conservatory of Music National Youth Art Exhibition Jilin Provincial Competition. She also received the First Prize in the China Regional Competition at the 7th International Youth Pianist Competition.

In 2021, Hou Jiayan was awarded the Gold Prize in the Piano Specialty at the 3rd China Boao Art Festival Youth Art Exhibition and the First Prize in the Children's Group B at the Central Conservatory of Music National Youth Art Exhibition. She also achieved the First Prize in the China Regional Competition at the 8th International Youth Pianist Competition.

In 2022, Hou Jiayan continued to shine, winning the First Prize in the Children's Group D at the 9th International Youth Pianist Competition and the First Prize at the Youth Plum Blossom Art Exhibition.

Her dedication to her craft and her outstanding musical talent have earned her recognition and praise both nationally and internationally, marking her as a rising star in the world of piano music.
